Using media as her drawing tool, Seattle based artist Cait Willis has developed a practice of documenting digital miscommunication. Through the process of collecting glitches, a temporary pixilated disruption, she is able to capture the haunting beauty of our technological failures.
Dr Jekyll and Madame Hydepresents the duality of media and culture through the artists exploration of the glitch. Exhibiting a series of digital paintings, prints, and video work, the viewer is given the opportunity to experience her process. With this new body of work Willis questions the physical and emotional impact of new media culture. She presents the mistakes, the imperfections, and what may even be considered the human qualities of our daily technology.
