Markeith Wiley and Laura Aschoff present Cilvia_Sylvia a collaborative durational performance that explores the artists in response to each other’s movements and expressions. Working in this call and response format, the performers allow the work to grow and evolve fluidly, without definitive conclusion.
Wiley and Aschoff explore the perimeters of the space through movement, personal objects, and projected video of the artists in conversation. Cilvia_Sylvia sees the performers evolve in real time as they reject, explore, and finally embrace their personal objects and past exchanges. Wiley and Aschoff emerge from the performance visibility altered, having invited gallery patrons into the intimate dimensions of their relationship.
